Inside the Mind of a Watch Collector
by Brendon Zahrndt
Everyone collects something. It is in our blood as human beings to accumulate things based on our interests and needs. I happen to collect watches, among other things. The personalities of individuals who collect watches are similar in many ways. I will take you through what I think makes up the mind, style, and attitude of a watch collector.
The typical watch enthusiast has an outfit for every event--and a watch to go with it. They pay close attention to style. Going to dinner, a sporting event, traveling, simple day to day use, or beyond all require a different watch for the situation. The right watch can make or break that outfit--choose wisely.
The watch collector is a social butterfly who has a story behind every watch they own. They will wear the watch out knowing that someone is going to comment on it so the watch works as a conversation starter. You are probably going to be approached by another watch collector so the watch serves to bring together like minded individuals with something in common.
A wristwatch collector has a certain swagger about them that exudes confidence. Being a part of an unspoken fraternity, the watch collector always knows that they are a member of a unique society who enjoys the finer things in life without being obnoxious.
Most importantly, the watch collector is a story teller. He or she likes to show off the collection they have to anyone interested in hearing the story behind their life and interest in timepieces. This individual knows how to tell a story, enjoys doing so, and has the leader mentality necessary to carry that crown.
Wristwatch collectors enjoy a good time. We are interested in quality as well as quantity. We like being members of groups and staying active within those groups. Best of all, watch collectors collect items that unify.

The solution to our climate crisis seems simple. Repower America with wind and solar. End our dependence on foreign oil. A stronger economy. So why are we still stuck with dirty and expensive energy? Because big oil spends hundreds of millions of dollars to block clean energy. Lobbyists, ads, even scandals. All to increase their profits, while America suffers. Breaking big oil's lock on our government ... Now that's change. We're the American people and we approve this message.
